TF-CBT: The Triangle of Life

Traumatic experiences often leave negative after-effects in children. This can cause recurring negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our client, the Allegheny Health Network, takes these children through a program called TF-CBT, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to both inform and help them recover.

Team Transcendence assisted in TF-CBT by creating a game to augment the therapy. TF-CBT: Triangle of Life is a mobile game that teaches traumatized children about the Cognitive Triangle of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as how to replace their negative thoughts with positive ones.

Our team consisted of seven members, three programmers, two artists, one sound designer, and one producer. Seungsuk Cho was our producer and kept us well-connected to our clients throughout the development process. Eric Chang, Vivek Kotecha, and Yan Zhang worked on game programming and helped design game levels. Etaba Assigna was out sound designer and the creative director of the project. He wrote and edited the script of the story while composing the music for the game. Bing Liu and I  were the two artists of the team. We are both strong 2D artists, which is why our game is a 2D side-scrolling puzzle platformer. I handled all of the character art and sprite animations, as well as designing the collectable items in the game.

The game is now available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
